Robotic wheelchair loader for cars Abi-loader FX The AbiLoader-FX is a robotic arm, which delivers Fixed-Frame wheelchairs from the luggage compartment of the vehicle to the front or side door of this vehicle. The AbiLoader may be used in cars with a high rear door, vertical or inclined, such as estate cars, station wagons, minivans, MPV, SUV, off-roaders or 4WD. The mechanism is mechanically adjustable to allow it to fit in a wide variety of vehicles. Once set it remains correct for the life of the device. The electrical operation is simple, requiring no electronics or calibration, for ease of installation and maintenance. Chair unloading is driven by 2 industry-standard, highly reliable electrical actuators driven from the car electrical system. A third actuator, mounted on the main base, is used to open the boot, where this is not already electrically controlled. Motorcycle Riding for Disabled Drivers, By: Jonathan

Many disabled people may think that, depending on their disability, that they will never be able to ride a motorcycle. Advances in technology have now made the possibility of many disabled drivers taking control of a motorcycle a reality. If you need to carry mobility equipment with you, such as a wheelchair, fold up mobility scooter or crutches, it is worth considering the practicality of attaching a side car to your motorcycle. This will not only offer greater stability, but enable you to take your mobility equipment with you wherever you travel. Some sidecars have ramps fitted at the back to make getting a wheelchair in and out easier. Lack Of Leg Or Foot Mobility If you have a disability that means you have a lack of mobility in your legs, or have had an amputation, it is possible to have your motorcycle's controls converted from foot operation to ones that can be hand operated. If the disability affects your right leg it is possible to adapt your ...

Adaptive Modifications for Amputee Motorcycling Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul. – Anonymous You’ve seen them cruising down a winding highway, heard the roar of pipes on the boulevard, dreamed of the thrill and freedom of a motorcycle, and wondered; “Can I still ride a motorcycle after my amputation?” The answer is an enthusiastic “Yes!” In this article, we will review common motorcycle modifications that can help an amputee rider get back on the road and, just as importantly, how to prepare yourself. Getting Started Getting your motorcycle ready for amputee riding isn’t necessarily difficult.
